Join us on a cruise to the Trollfjord with the world’s largest sailing Colin Archer ship M/S Hestøy. Trollfjord is Lofoten’s most visited destination. Here you can see precipitous mountains that rise more than 1,000 meters straight out of the sea, painting a truly dramatic and breathtaking landscape.
The Trollfjord is not only known for its stunning scenery but also for its significance in northern Norwegian fishing history. The renowned Trollfjord Battle holds a central place in the region’s heritage. The allure of this fjord has inspired renowned writers and artists throughout history, including Johan Bojer, author of “The Last Viking,” and the painter Gunnar Berg, whose artworks depict the fjord’s splendor.

During our journey through Raftsundet, which is a part of the route, you’ll have the opportunity to witness a large population of sea eagles. These majestic creatures, with their impressive wingspans of up to 2.65 meters, are Northern Europe’s largest eagles. We provide fish to feed the sea eagles, offering an incredible opportunity for guests to capture up-close photos of these magnificent birds in flight.
M/S Hestøy itself is a marvel, representing a significant part of Norwegian coastal sailing culture. This wooden ship carries with it a rich history and exudes a genuine sense of character. With its ample deck space and inviting salon, the ship provides an exceptional setting for your journey.
During the cruise, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase, along with a selection of snacks. Additionally, we serve a delectable local fish soup with bread, allowing you to savor the flavors of the region as you revel in the surroundings.
Throughout the excursion, a knowledgeable local guide will accompany us, sharing intriguing tales about the Trollfjord, the sights we encounter, Viking stories, and insights into life in Lofoten. Their expertise will enrich your experience and provide a deeper understanding of the region.
Upon request, a short stop for fishing can be arranged, allowing you to engage in this traditional activity and potentially reel in your own catch.
